World number ones the United States won their first Olympic gold medal in women’s indoor volleyball by beating Brazil in three straight sets 25-21 25-20 25-14. Brazil claimed silver after missing out on the podium at their home Games at Rio 2016.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

The Brazillian players applauded first as if to generously congratulate the new champion. I see no big regret in them, just a recognition that their opponents did better this time. I'm happy for the USA the champion but equally admired the Brazillians sportsmanships in this final.

All three medal winners were great, but I must say the USA team was in a class by itself in the final match. They deserved the gold medal this time.

Wonderful teamwork, amazing determination and truly American spirit. This is what you can achieve with persistence, discipline, belief and harwork. By looking at their faces when the Star Spangled Banner was played nothing could hide the determination and belief these amazing players had. They deserve it, many times over.
