  1. Pre-1997, I would agree with EC 5 points and League 4 points, however nowadays I would probably make both equal since Champions League now is basically a combination of EC/UEFA Cup (with 2-4 places added from UEFA Cup, for all that important revenue). I would also bump up the FA/League Cups by a point (especially pre-2000).

Todays’ Man City/Liverpool dominance (aside from fitness) can’t beat the level of competitiveness of the 90s (when you had teams like Man United, Arsenal, Leeds, Blackburn, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Norwich, Newcastle, and Tottenham all competiting for the title).

  2. I am dutch, the Dutch always put down English football as kick&run. Nonsense, of course. I played in Holland with some English blokes in an amateur team. One touch! Amazing, learned a lot. So English football is in the core great. Personally I loved Forest when it was at its peak. Great team, take Robertson. Leeds at its peak was fantastic as well.

  3. 3 years is bias towards manutd and Liverpool…we played the best football..we were compared to Barcelona…Jose just parked the bus..arsenal should be 3rd if we count all our fa cups

  4. I have a lot of time for Gary Neville but I think when he named the 8 or 9 united players who he claimed could of gotten into any team in the world was an exageration imo. All of them were fantastic players but there better players around. I will use Van der sar as an example. Does Neville truly believe VDS could have ousted Casillas at Madrid or Cech (spelling issue) at Chelsea I doubt it.

  5. Neville must dbe bitter toward Arsenal. Maybe he forgets Wiltord scoring an wining the league at old trafford. United couldn't compete with Arsenal without Neville hacking down Reyes, or Nistelrooy trying to cheat, or Rooney diving for penalties.

  6. That Liverpool team dosnt get enough credit, Liverpool in the 80s are still the only English side ever to dominate Europe, yeah other teams have won the UCL, but Liverpool won 4 in 8, they won 3 European trophys in 3 years, they won so many trophies, Liverpool's team was unreal

  7. Dave – So Jamie, who do you think is the greatest English team of all time?
Jamie – Eeeeeerm, well I think that the greatest team is the Liverpool team of the 70s and 80s
Dave – How many times do I have to tell you Jamie, football didn't exist before 1992!

  8. Still think notts forest achievements were unsurpassed, coming up from the old second division then winning the first division title , then back to back European cups is the greatest achievement in modern history , simply remarkable

  9. As a Liverpool fan, when neville says best, law and Charlton, I shudder, that is some decent team. I know we had Dalglish and also mascherano alongside alonso is a beautiful thing but jesus, George best, Dennis law and Bobby Charlton is just stupid to play against

  10. Yer nited have never has a dynasty…they've had Busby and Ferguson. Then long periods in the wilderness. Liverpool had a system of succession aka The Boot Room…

  11. Rose tinted glasses ..Liverpool 70s ..then forest …when the champions played champions that was the hardest challenge imagine that now ….so forget about any thing after the money changed the European cup
