Great race. You can be down at all about that given surgery… and your kick wasn’t quite Basten but it was decent! Keep progressing bro! Keep it rolling. Do what you know and the fitness and speed will come. The 800 suggestion by another comment is a good one…
Do you regret not leading from the front given how the first two heats panned out? The commentators sounded disgusted at the tactics of all the runners in the heat bar Wightman.
Stratford stadium know it well.
4:44 The commentator really had it out for Dina Asher-Smith haha
Good to see an examination of this sort of race. Sounds like all things considered it was a good run. That said if the aim was to make the final then, in hindsight, could you have done anything different? You ended up in the position (6th) which if the time was say low 3:43 could have got you there. However I guess, even in a "paced" race that would have been a tough ask given where you are at. Good luck for the rest of the season. Take your 3:38 form to this in future years and anything is possible.
been a tough 12-18 months for you brother. "There are three things extremely hard: steel, a diamond, and to know one's self." – Benjamin Franklin
watched the race live on the BBC stream; you were in a lousy position with 500 to go, starting to get anxious well before the bell. Had to work hard round the first bend of the last lap, worked very hard down the back straight so had nothing left for the crucial last 150.
In retrospect, wouldn't it have been better to push the pace and finish in the top six and at least qualify on time?
Tell me to get lost if you want to but what is your 800 PB? Have you ever thought of giving 5000 a real go? Might it not turn out to be your best distance -eventually? You handle the longer reps and tempo stuff very easily in training.
Good to see you racing in the UK again Foggy – well in
would love to hear why your thoughts on why no-one pushed the pace when you were the 3rd heat needing a slow time
Been seing Adam wearing a lot of Under Armour gear recently. (UA Spikes in Last Vid and a shirt and Jacket Now)
Hmmm… I wonder why… 🙂
Considering the serious surgery you had only a few weeks ago and all the training and fitness you lost as a result, this was not a bad performance. The male commentator, was that Tim Hutchings(?), was unaware of your appendix op and criticised your performance a bit. Adam, next year, you'll come back to these championships and be a serious contender.Josh, and Jake are coming to the end of their careers and you can beat Neil. Jake H is your target. You need to get your 800 down to 1:47. Get yourself into competitive 800s. This will give you the closing speed you need for races like this. Good luck.
So what is your job now that you are out of college
too far away with a lap to go.
you are still very young but you are in the mix the world is your oyster
OMG I SAW YOU THERE
When you saw 3:43 heat one were you not tempted to make your heat a proper race ?
Well done on such a slow race
Was a really silly race but also made it exciting. Simply luck in such a race, Adam literally couldn't get round even in lane 3. Also with lower confidence after having appendix removed it's unfair to be upset about this result against the very best in the UK. Only way is up for the FOGDOG
new trim
great job (esp in light of the recent surgery).
Under Armour looks good on you 👀
At Drake what did you major in?
Let’s go he’s back
