With a powerful engine, an available stick shift, and a trick differential, this Golf R is an absolute riot.

Volkswagen knows how to build a hot hatch. The VW Golf R effectively puts the Golf GTI on steroids, giving it more horsepower, more torque, all-wheel drive (AWD), and an adaptive suspension. Buyers can still choose between a dual-clutch automatic or manual transmission. This car has few flaws, but Dave Undercoffler has identified at least one.

this Golf R is a disappointment. I understand what the Germans were thinking, but the logical and practical approach was severely lacking. A revision of the HVAC/radio controls must happen by next model year. If not, then this Golf is a HARD pass. It's a shame really!!
Pristine Edge. Yes.
I’m a CarGurus fan. I have a profile and I’m having problems with updates with pricing. I hope you can contact me. Thank you 🙏🏻
A cool car, but that price is a deal-breaker. The Mazda 3 hatchback is almost half the price, and it's reliable and fun to drive.
Ya – kind of subdued and boring styling (& I'm older than u)
The controls are kind of annoying as well.
I like the drift mode a bunch
It is getting to be a bit heavy 3,420 lbs
I'm driving a Fiesta ST (2,750 lbs – very flickable & fun to hoon) GR Corolla (3,250 lbs)
I don't need or care as much about refinement❗❗❗
GR gets my 💵💵💵
Drift mode the mode you'll never use lol. I like the car but $50K for a Golf is way up there. Hell I could get a Mazda 3 Turbo AWD for $36K and it has buttons!
So I'm just saying that you could probably get a Subaru Impreza hatchback sport not as much power but it is very stylish looking and definitely all-wheel drive and it probably will rip around the corners just as good as this vehicle but far less money
