  1. GUILTY! I was wondering why I've never seen this video before heck you just put it up. I am so guilty of this and this exact problem has been driving me nuts making me wonder what the heck I'm doing wrong. You are a genius thankfully you must have played with someone who was doing the same thing and recognized its video potential. If that's the case I thank him/her and you for putting this up.

  2. Get taller=less flex in the knees? Great timing for this video as I am currently working on having almost no flex in my knees in my chipping setup to correct my "jumping" during chipping.

  3. Hello 👋 I notice in other videos with your irons in slow motion it doesn't seem like you have a squat to Square move in your dwn swing or maybe I missed it 🤔 but I know some say they preset their that move by opening up the legs a bit do which one do you recommend? I know tiger does it .

  4. Just tried the opening the face a touch & having a more upright swing from a few videos ago & man the spin is insane. Ball checks & just stops right where you need it. Never chunked, never gets stuck, easy to hit.

  5. Idk if I should thank you for this or not but you said people cheat by putting chapstick on the club face and I'm ashamed to admit I tried it and it was the most fun I've ever had in a round of golf I lost 2 balls the whole 18 as opposed to the 20 balls I'd usually lose so thank you? Lol I know I'm a filthy cheater but we don't keep score.

  6. I was out last night kept grounding the club way before the ball. Then started to stand tall, feel my front half of my feet loaded – strike improved massively then I started to creep in close as you suggest and got the club up on the toe …. Hello short game! Started then to really work on judging my landing zones and feel for strength. Carried over something successful in my putting where you focus on the ball and just swing the club .. seemed to be positive as well …
I hope I don’t forget this !! Great video and nice explanation!

  7. Thanks Matt, went out into the back yard and practiced this for an hour straight..and it worked wonderfully. The biggest takeaway for me ( no pun intended..lol ) was to take the hands outside and “ no rolling the wrists “ . Solved my mystery shank that would happen unexpectedly on these little shots. This really completed the package. Cheers from a Nova Scotia subscriber..you really are “THE”Mr. Shortgame. Mike.

  8. Those guys pushing up on him while he’s teaching 😂 I sometimes wonder how he has so much time on a course to practice on some of those holes

  9. F king great tips. Everything you've said resonated. Especially comfortable I feel in a knees bent, weight position…which has me as a 1 out 4 'happy with' chipper. Will try these tips today before my round. Muchos Gracias Matt.

  10. Excellent content Matt, always enjoy your content. For a majority of situations I use a good quality chipper. Sorry but someone had to say it. I am working on mastering that, its just another hybrid tool at the end of the day, but don't tell my score card, it may not approve.

  11. You are so right. Mr. sHORT game. It’s from nerves… all the little fixes people do is to combat this. Hands forward, ball back, rigidity. What people need is to remember golf is fun. Stop trying to beat your very best score, that’s an insane mission. Just play golf! Like kicking a soccer ball or playing catch. Keep it flowing and natural.

  12. Scored my first 75 Mr Short Game.
I attribute a good portion of that score too your short game tips. You hooked me up with a better Sand Game, Tightened up my Pitching & Chipping, all by keeping most of my weight on my left leg. Haven't chunked barely any ever since. A few games ago I found myself in 7 bunkers & then out of 7 bunkers on the first try everytime, granted not all next to the hole but the point is I got out with a nice swish sound everytime.
Keep the videos coming. You, along with other select Golftubers are really helping people.
I'm killing it now. Down from a 16.5 handicap to a 12 handicap in literally 6 weeks.
And my first 75. Thank You for the free tips. Not everyone can afford a teacher & lessons!
You get so many comments I'm sure you can't possibly even read them all, I just feel obligated to share my experiences of improvement with you! Thank you again.

  13. Matt, I was glad to hear you will follow a dream and go after a tour player card. Wow, that is awesome! Looking forward to following the path you take. I did the same in becoming a published novelist at over 70 years old.

  14. Great video. Worry about YOU. YOU ARE NOT A MASTER TEACHER. COMPLETE YOUR GOAL. YOU WORK ON YOU. I THOUGHT YOU WERE WORKING TOWARDS A GOAL? STOP IT. SHOW ME YOUR PROGRESSION. I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO CHIP. I WATCH TOPSPEED GOLF. IS THIS PART OF YPUR PRACTICE?

  15. Chipped one in from 30 yards off the green to a front pin, ball checked up after the second bounce rolled hit the pin and the ball disappeared into the bottom of the cup it was with this style of chipping.

  16. Scrambling has never really been a problem with my game. Always good to see your perspective though Matt. I pretty much do what you’re showing in this video. I do practice about 500 chips a week.

  17. I never understood why my chipping game was a toss-up between hitting a beautiful shot or blading it over the green. I watched this morning before my round and it really changed the game when using my 60-degree. Whether it was chipping from the fringe or hitting in from 65 yards every shot today was pure. This is one of maybe a handful of videos that instantly clicked and transferred on to the course so thank you!

  18. Take one of those useless long irons out the bag and put a chipper in. You'll still have your wedges when you need them and you won't chunk a chipper

  19. This was an excellent chipping lesson! I can only chip and pitch or else the balls can hit the 101.. Being a great chipper and knowing the release of each wedge can give stress relief short putts..

  20. Great video! I hope you weren’t holding up the group in that cart behind you in the video. 🤔😂

  21. Can't wait to see more all day grinding away, playing around with little purpose then going out to a tee to hook 6 irons into the woods, beauty

  22. I tool lessons at age 45. Pretty late for a guy who played golf all his life. Found a great teacher. He taught me to make these type of chips with a 9 iron, with the heal held up slightly (so it doesn't get stuck going through) and using more of a putting stroke. Practiced a lot in those days. I am now 76. Don't practice much at all (why?) but still get up and down with that shot 50% of the time.

  23. I checked against other videos to make sure it wasn't me, I was getting really bad audio – kept cutting out. Was fine on other videos. So assuming that's not just me, could be a place for improvement.
