  1. I mean those guys for sure, I think next on that list might be Luka, simply because he’s probably a top ten player in the league and has infamy from his success as a younger player overseas. JT and Zion are likely to be this upcoming generations Superstars unfortunately while players like Dame were sensational amazing perennial All Stars I think if he was a superstar it’d be in the eyes of the players not the entire world in terms of basketball success and undeniable fame. Also Joel is kinda in the same category a superstars superstar if you will, players and fans alike will all have him listed as a current top ten talent, no less that top 12 (just cuz there’s hella good players I can’t bother to remember off the top of my head and then rank for this comment) but in terms of world wide acknowledgment as a superstar yes he might have a bigger audience then someone like dame and possibly a better argument it’s still an argument not a known fact. I think “superstar” is a mix of top tier talent, which players like I’ve listed have, and then continued success and accolades coming together.

  2. I think there's a difference between being a superstar NBA player within the league's eyes, which is basically the franchise players on the Top 15 or so teams and a cultural superstar, as in what level of popularity and name recognition you have among casual viewers and those who don't follow sports.

In a cultural sense, I feel like Luka, Steph, LeBron, Durant, Zion, Giannis, Harden, and Kyrie are superstars, far as name recognition and Q-Rating

I feel like Chris Paul and Westbrook fall just short of this group, but have been on the cusp throughout their careers

But if we're speaking in a basketball sense, you've gotta add in names like Ja Morant, Kawhi, Embiid, Jokic, Dame Lillard, Tatum, etc

  3. Shaq is speaking the truth. You shouldn’t be calling everyone a superstar. Luka and Damian haven’t achieved anything in their career yet. No MVPs, no championship, nothing.

  4. Before watching the video, I had KD, Bron, Steph, and Kawhi. After hearing Shaq and thinking about it, I would throw Giannis in there too. Those are the current Superstars for sure. Everyone else is either a team star, NBA star, a great player or is in the NBA.

  5. Dame a better rapper than he is player, and Dame Time only happens once a playoff. (If they get there). Zion has done nothing in the league. Tatum wears too much Kobe and has no mamba in him. Embiid is nice but… he wins nothing. (Not always his fault). As for Ja… being a superstar? From when Memphis plays better without you in the line up than they do with, you do not, as Shaq says, have G14 classification. Luka, will be a superstar. That, can be guaranteed.

  6. Steph
    LeBron
    Greek Freak
    KD
    Embid
    Jokic
    Luka
    Dame
    Kahwi

These are the Names I Think of when I think of Active Basketball Players, It's that simple

Your a superstar When You Have Rep, Fame, Love, Interest, And Ability higher than most of your peers

  7. For me a superstar is a player that is consistent and gives you a chance to win it all every year those four mentioned with a healthy core can bring the chip.

  8. Broooo JW and these guys just say anything U can’t be a “Superstar” if u ain’t winning anything, those guys u called didn’t win anything there are not superstarsss

  9. Jay, common. There are Star and there is Superstar. And if you call Ja a Superstar , you are putting him in the level of Steph, Giannis and Lebron, and that is hilarious. What did that guy accomplish so far? Haha

There a few superstars , and there is a star in almost each team who are not there yet

  10. A superstar is someone that is a great player AND has a global brand. There’s only 3 in the league right now being LeBron, Curry and KD. While those 3 guys may not be the best all the time and there certainly guys that are great on an ability front that don’t make the list, those guys are the only guys in the league with an international reach so big that someone who doesn’t even watch basketball from a country where basketball isn’t even the primary sport can name those 3 players off the top of their head. That’s a superstar.
