In this video we take a look at Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Jason Williams and more. Old School NBA Players that were special.
Penny Hardaway did not only play for the orlando magic, he simply was magic.
When he entered the nba many compaired him to magic johnson. he had the size, he had the flair, and could do things on the court that havent seen in years. The one thing that penny had on magic was that he not only had great handles but could move very smooth and was super athletic. You could be sure penny would do something nice every single game.
And the next player on my list is arvidas sabonis. I wanted to make sure that I hit you up with some players that i havent featured before on my show,
but who definately deserve to be on this list. When Arvidas Sabonis came into the NBA he was already 30 years old and past his prime. But still you could see that he was something special.
Never before have we seen a big with such great passing skills. Yes of course he was one of the first bigs to shoot 3 pointers but the court vision he had was what was standing out to me.
Next on my list I have nick van exel. Nick van exel was the steal of the 1993 nba draft and quickly became a fan favorite for the la lakers.
He brought showtime back to LA and showed that he had a talent for the special moments. If it was the clutch buzzer beaters or his insane passes,
Nick would never dissapoint. What I always liked most about him was his unique style how he would play. Maybe it was because he was left handed, I dont know, but one thing was for sure, Nick really had game.
Next on my list I will take you way back. Bob Cousy.
This Celtics legend was probably the first player who was doing those fancy things on a regular basis. I mean there was a reason why he was named the houdini of the hardwood. If it was behind the backs, between the legs, spin moves etc, most of the things he has done where absolutely new in his era.
So he was not only very important to the game, but without cousy, who knows what the nba would have looked like in the 80s and 90s.
And the next player on my list is Rod Strickland. I recently dropped a full video about rod, and why I think he is one of the most underated players of all
time. This man had skills, handles and a thing for amazing plays. Even when he played against the great Michael Jordan he would do something spectacular.
He was super tough to guard, and would make passes that came out of nowhere. You should def check out my video on rod to see what a great showtime player he was.
From rod strickland to pete maravich. So I am taking you back in time again. Pistol Pete is def one of the most creative players of all time.
He invented so many moves back in the days, and even had plays that i have never seen since he played. It is known that pete could score at will and was dangerous on the court from anywhere. But his true gift was the creativtivity and joy he would bring on the basketball court.
Next we have jason williams, aka white chocolate. When Jason williams came along, many compaired him to pistol pete. And it was easy to see why.
He had the skills and the so called passing gift. With white chocolate you could see that he was loving the game. Poetry in motion. He was probably the most creative player in the early 2000s, and def. deserves a spot on my list.
Now obviously I gotta have mj on this list. I dont need to say that much, just check out that clip.
And the next player on my list has to be larry bird. Now Larry to me is the best passing forward we have ever seen. A guy with his size to have this kind of court vision was unbelievable. But it was always the way he was passing. Again this was art. Larry was able to make the right play at the right time, but then with style and flair. Just gotta love larry Bird.
And the last player on my list obviously is magic johnson. the guy that created the showtime era. Magic Johnson is probably the best showtime player
of all time. Everything he did had flair. I could watch 60 minutes of highlights, as long as magic is involved. He would be the captain of my showtime team
