Introduction to Shen Yun Performing Arts
Shen Yun Performing Arts, headquartered in New York, is the world’s leading Chinese classical dance and classical music art troupe. Over the years, Shen Yun has attracted and cultivated many of the world’s top artists, reviving and promoting the true, almost extinct traditional Chinese culture in the form of classical art.
From the ancient times of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors to the magnificent Tang Dynasty, from the prosperity of the Song Dynasty to the elegance of the Qing Dynasty, Chinese civilization has a long history of five thousand years. This is a picture full of myths, legends and heroic epics – courage and sacrifice, integrity and loyalty, kindness and virtue. The starry story has inherited five thousand civilizations.
China was called “Shenzhou” in ancient times, and humans and gods once coexisted on this land. Music, medicine, calligraphy, clothing, writing… God has passed down rich culture to the people here. For thousands of years, the beliefs of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism have been the foundation of society. In the past few decades, the Chinese Communist regime has regarded traditional culture of respecting heaven and virtue as a threat to its existence. Through political movements such as the Cultural Revolution, it has systematically uprooted traditional beliefs and destroyed the legacy of five thousand years of divine culture. Almost destroyed.
In 2006, a group of China’s top traditional artists came to New York with the same wish: to revive the true Chinese divine culture and promote it around the world. In this way, Shen Yun was born.

1. Shen Yun’s creations and performances are based on traditional culture;
