On January 29, 1941, Ta Kung Pao, a private newspaper with a certain pro-communist tendency and considerable influence, had a relatively fair and honest report on the truth of the Southern Anhui Incident, its ins and outs, process and results:
Military Commission Order: Gu Zhutong, the commander of the Third War Zone, said in a telegram: “The newly formed Fourth Army of the National Revolutionary Army has disobeyed orders and failed to comply with dispatches. Since last month, it has concentrated the entire army in the Jiangnan area to deliberately disrupt the war situation and sabotage the anti-Japanese war. The front again attacked the 40th Division on the 4th of this month. It was for emergency treatment and the army was disbanded and reorganized. Commander Ye Ting was captured and handed over to court-martial. Deputy Commander Xiang Ying was at large and was ordered to be severely arrested.”
At the end of 1936, when Mao Zedong led the Red Army generals to send a letter to Chiang Kai-shek, requesting not to attack the Red Army again, the Red Army of the Communist Party of China only had less than 20,000 troops, and its power was less than three counties. From the beginning of the all-out war of resistance to the end of 1937, the CCP already had 100,000 troops, covering an area of 35,000 square kilometers, and a population of 1.5 million. By 1943, the CCP was able to control base areas with a population of 54 million out of a total population of 183 million behind enemy lines. By 1945, the CCP had established 16 base areas across the country, of which 5 had political power at all levels, 8 had administrative committees, and 3 were military areas. The CCP had 1.2 million members and 1.2 million troops. The number of people held hostage has reached more than 100 million. Compared with the CCP in 1936, its military strength alone was 60 times that of eight years ago; compared with the Kuomintang army, which suffered millions of casualties and more than 200 generals during the eight-year war of resistance, the contrast was The size is shocking.
During the eight years of the War of Resistance, Mao Zedong never left the Loess Plateau, nor did he command or direct a single war of resistance, let alone go to the front line once. On the contrary, all his telegram instructions either stopped the troops from resisting Japan, or taught them how to “attack friendly forces only, not enemy forces”, or even ordered them to “hide in hiding for a long time and accumulate strength” so as to prepare for the cruel war immediately after the war. Civil War, “accumulated rich experience and laid a solid foundation.”
“In early August, the Japanese army attacked south of Pingjin, and Shanxi was threatened; Nanjing urgently sent a telegram to the Eighth Route Army, urging the Shanxi front line to be opened immediately. … Mao Zedong drafted a reply to Zhu De on behalf of Zhu De, but always made excuses, either that the supplies had not yet been replenished, or that The compilation work has not been completed yet, so we need to delay the start.” – Zhang Guotao, “My Memories”, Volume 3, p.385.
“After Yan’an received the news of the victory at Pingxingguan, it made a big deal of publicity; most people also felt that the Eighth Route Army could not only engage in guerrilla warfare, but also achieve victory in mobile warfare. However, Mao Zedong telegraphed the generals at the front to avoid such battles with heavy sacrifices in the future.” ( p.409~410)——The third volume of “My Memories” by Zhang Guotao
“Lin Biao himself confirmed that when he asked Yan’an and received no reply, which turned out to be a rejection, he decided to launch an attack on the Japanese army.” “A special celebration party was held in Yan’an for the victory of Pingxingguan, and people also wrote various poems , performed by the song and dance team.” “In this way, I will do it again. Over and over again, Mao Zedong turned the victory achieved by opposing his opinions into confirmation of his position and praise for himself.” – (p. 294) (Germany) Otto Blau. In the 1950s and 1960s, Mao Zedong’s remarks: “The Japanese nation is a great nation. (“The Chinese People Support the Great Patriotic Struggle of the Japanese People,” January 27, 1964)”; “Our two nations are now They are equal, they are two great nations. Your nation is a very good nation. I think it will not be easy for anyone who wants to bully them (conversation with members of the Japanese Diet visiting the Mainland China delegation, October 15, 1955)”; “A great nation like Japan should have independence and sovereignty. (Conversation with Japanese Socialist Party Member of Parliament Hisao Kuroda, January 24, 1961)”
“The United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, which harmed the Japanese people. Therefore, the United States had a bad reputation among most people in the world. … In World War II, the Japanese government forced the Japanese people to commit aggression. war, but it changed later and was harmed by the atomic bombs of the United States, so the Japanese people, including some government figures, also opposed nuclear war (I also visited China after participating in the 11th World Conference on the Prohibition of Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs held in Japan. Conversation with foreign guests from Mainland China, August 22, 1964)”
There is even “Japanese warlords occupied most of China in the past, so the Chinese people received education. Without Japan’s aggression, the Chinese people would neither be awakened nor united. As a result, we are still in the mountains and cannot reach the Beijing is watching Peking Opera…Japanese monopoly capital and warlords have done a “good thing” for us. If I need to thank the Japanese warlords, I would like to thank the Japanese warlords.” (Mao Zedong: Full text of the conversation when meeting with Japanese Socialist Party member Hisao Kuroda and others. January 24, 1961)
Mao: Stop telling the same story as in the past. Japan’s aggression can also be said to be a good thing and it helped us a lot. Please see, the Chinese people have seized power, and at the same time, your monopoly capital and militarism have also helped us. The Japanese people are waking up in their millions and tens of millions. Including some of the generals who fought in China, they have now become our friends. (Excerpted from “Long Live Mao Zedong Thought”, pages 533 to 534.)
“After the Second World War, our relationship changed. As mentioned just now, you are in a very good position and a confident position. In the past, you owed others debts, but now you no longer owe debts. Someone owes you a debt… It owes us a debt. I think I am not wrong about this at all. You are now relaxed and happy, which is different from the Second World War. ,reason It’s in your hands, isn’t it? …You’ve already apologized, right? It’s not good for a nation to be angry all the time. We can understand this. We are your friends. I have a clear view of the Chinese people and treat you not as enemies, but as friends.” – “Selected Diplomatic Works of Mao Zedong” published by Central Literature Publishing House and World Knowledge Publishing House in 1994. The original title is “Sino-Japanese Relations and World War Issues.”
