Su Shi, the great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, narrowly escaped death after being involved in the “Wutai Poetry Case” and was demoted to Huangzhou. In frustration and distress, he wrote “Han Shi Tie”, the third running script in the world, which is known as the best surviving calligraphy and is astonishing through the ages.
