ancient chinamythAmong them, there is a “line” connecting the human world and the underworld.Huangquan Road”, it is said that as long as a living person walks on this road, he will move towards it uncontrollably.underworldand finally disappeared at the end of the road, becoming a ghost in the underworld. However inSichuanThere is also a “Yellow Spring Road” in Wawu Mountain, Hongya County, Shandong Province. At the end of this Yellow Spring Road is a terrifying place that is passed down by word of mouth——Ecstasy.
01
During the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Wanli received an urgent memorial from Sichuan. The memorial read: “There have been many disappearances in Wawu Mountain in Hongya County, Sichuan recently. Many people disappeared mysteriously after entering Wawu Mountain. Local officials have sent people to search for them. Not only have they not found the missing people, even the officials who went to look for them have not found them. Didn’t come back.”
In order to explore the specific cause of the disappearance, Emperor Wanli ordered local officials to form a team composed of local people, hunters, and officials who were familiar with the terrain of Wawu Mountain to enter Wawu Mountain to search for the missing people. But unexpectedly, even after this team entered Wawu Mountain, there was no news at all. In the end, no one was able to get out of Wawu Mountain.
Therefore, Emperor Wanli sent an army and ordered the army to conquer Wawu Mountain. The leading general also heard of the name of Wawu Mountain, so he ordered the army to cut down trees along the way after entering Wawu Mountain, hoping that in this way, the view would not be blocked by trees.
However, because the trees in Wawu Mountain were too tall, cutting them down was extremely slow, and several officers and soldiers were even hit by falling trees. If we continue to use the method of cutting down trees, we may not be able to reach the depths of Wawu Mountain for several months, so the general ordered the army to stop cutting down trees and enter Wawu Mountain directly on foot.
But as the team entered the depths of Wawu Mountain, the woods became denser and thicker, and the fog became thicker and thicker. Even the light could not shine in. The general sent several soldiers to explore in different directions, but in the end they all returned to the original place. In the end, this army was lost in Wawu Mountain, and everyone never returned.
Seeing this situation, Emperor Wanli immediately issued an imperial edict: “From now on, Wawu Mountain in Hongya County is completely closed. People are not allowed to go there privately. Violators will be severely punished.”
Since then, the local people have called Wawu “Monster Mountain”. They believe that a monster with powerful supernatural powers lives in the mountain, and people who go up the mountain are eaten by this monster. It is said that this monster lives in Mihundang on the top of Wawu Mountain, and those who disappeared are because they set foot on Mihuntang.
Over time, due to these horrific legends, the road into Wawu Mountain was called “Huangquan Road” by the locals, and the entrance to the mountain was called “Ghost Gate Pass”.

In 1970, a local hunter in Wawushan thought he was very familiar with the local environment and proposed to enter Mihuntang to find out. He was very dissatisfied with other people’s advice to him. He believed that with his decades of experience and the help of his hounds, he would be able to enter the Ecstasy and come out again.
However, after walking into Mihundang, he still lost his way and ultimately failed to get out of Wawu Mountain. Even his hound, which could not lose its way and could determine the route based on its sense of taste, disappeared into Wawu Mountain.
In 1972, two local women went to the mountains to dig up some medicinal materials to sell, but accidentally broke into the Mihuntang. They have been missing since then. The locals believed that they must have died in the Mihuntang.
As the disappearance case spread nearby, more and more people began to worry that the curse of Wawu Mountain would befall their homes. Even the villagers living in the surrounding area began to move away one after another, just to stay away from this “man-eating mountain”. “Wawu Mountain.
In order to eliminate the surrounding residents’ fear of Wawu Mountain, Hongya County sent a professional investigation team to explore the truth about Wawu Mountain’s ecstasy. However, such a professional team also lost its way after entering the Ecstasy.
The electronics and compasses they carried were all malfunctioning, and the satellite phone had no signal. No matter how they walked in the mountains, they would always return to the same place. Just like this, after they were trapped for three days and saw that the food and water they carried with them were almost exhausted, one person proposed to chop down trees with a knife to mark the trees while walking. In this way, they escaped from the Lost Soul. come out.
But what is incredible is that the location they came out of became Yingjing County, not Hongya County where they started.
Although all the team members escaped, their mental state became very trance-like. Whenever they recalled the situation in the mountains, they would become very frightened. In the end, everyone in the team received long-term psychological treatment.
But this is the first time that they can come out of Ecstasy alive.

Since the news spread that someone came out of Wawu Mountain alive, many explorers have focused on Wawu Mountain. A foreign explorer came to Wawu Mountain with a team of eight people, and wildly said that they would be the first team to conquer Wawu Mountain.
However, as soon as they entered, they found that all the electronic equipment and compass were malfunctioning, but they had already said harsh words, so they still entered Ecstasy. But they wandered around in the mountains for a whole week without finding a way out. They heard the sounds of various animals every night, which put their spirits on the verge of collapse.
Fortunately, they had an agreement with the local villagers that if they didn’t come out within a week, they would call the police to rescue them. With the help of the rescue team, they were rescued from the mountain by helicopter.
For a long time since then, no one dared to enter the Lost City, and there were no disappearances nearby.
Until 1999, a young geologist named Zheng Mingquan, accompanied by local villager Wei Zhiming, entered Wawu Mountain together. However, Wei Zhiming walked out on his own, but Zheng Mingquan disappeared in the mountains.
It turned out that the two had a dispute after entering Wawu Mountain, so the two decided to part ways. As a local, Wei Zhiming knew the terrain better and spent a day and night walking out. But Zheng Mingquan lost his way and was trapped in the Ecstasy.
After Wei Zhiming escaped, he immediately went to the police station to call the police. Local citizens and rescue teams immediately organized rescue. However, the terrain in the mountains was complex and the rescue was extremely difficult.
Zheng Mingquan was not found until 6 pm the next day, but due to the low temperature in the forest at night, he had been frozen and died.

As for why so many people enter Ecstasy, but basically none of them come out alive, there are many legends among the people. A local old man said: “Mihundang was built by Zhang Ling, the founder of the Five Pecks of Rice Sect.”
During the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Ling preached in Wawushan, with tens of thousands of followers. However, Zhang Ling had a bad relationship with the court. Emperor Wanli sent a large army to sweep Wawu Mountain in order to arrest Zhang Ling. Therefore, Zhang Ling set up the Bagua ecstasy array on the top of Wawu Mountain, and today’s enchantment array was formed.
What is the truth? Still an unsolved mystery.
